It is believed that there exist three world "cult races": Grand Prix Monaco, the 24 hours of Le Mans, France, and Indianapolis 500, Indiana, USA. I have my own opinion. When Grand Prix Monaco and the 24 hours of Le Mans I treat with great respect, Indy 500 for me stands at one level with… lawn mower racing. Do you wanna argue with me? Welcome to a comment page…

Mud, far not splitting speed, and frequent breakdowns. In British Pullboro, West Sussex, annual 12 hours lawn mower racing takes part.
This idea was suggested by the winners of famous races in Le Mans and Dayton as far back as in 1970s. Only a few sportsmen could afford a personal expensive race car then and the lawn mower became a perfect substitute for it.
In Pullboro everything is just like on real races: the engines are hand-built, there exist pit stops where racers may refuel and repair their machines, referees control the maintenance of safety regulations, the sportsmen who violate the rules may be disqualified.

The races continue even at night. The success in this competition depends heavily on actions at start. One who will manage to take his place the first will have advantage of the others. The further performance of a racer will depend on skill of a racer and technical ability of a car.
